CYCLING: Past and Future Rides

Hello Fellow Pedallers,

The Past Cycling Week,

Monday - Christmas lunch and rides. 44 registered, most turned up to ride, a few for lunch only. 4 different routes were taken on a hot morning. In two cases, the prospect of going out on an extension of the ride after coffee seemed a bit much and so two rides were cut slightly and a return to the shade of the pub was chosen after a long coffee stop. The riders led by Heather and Faye showed great resilience and completed the whole course, despite the heat, and so were last back to the pub to enjoy a cold one. Thanks to leaders Ian Pick, Heather Whitely and Faye Hill, Ruth Dare, Jane. After lunch, we had a few short speeches. Your correspondent had the pleasure of presenting the Graham Player Award to the person voted as Cyclist of the year'. Congratulations Jane.

Tuesday Ballina township, Just three, the ultra faithful core of Tuesday riding, the leadership group, what happened to all of the rest?. That very early start might not be working! Thanks for leading John

Wednesday, Ruth wasn't going to lest us rest this week, reminding us at the Christmas lunch that she was leading on Wednesday. Starting at Clunes, a combination of parts of a few previous routes and a reverse direction, heading through Eltham and Mcleans ridges before going through Bexhill and Cosy Camp road, finishing via James Gibson Rd. A route worth repeating, and we were lucky with cooler weather.  Thanks for leading Ruth

Friday Nashua Clunes, just 4 riders for another slightly different route, with a whole new starting point that one silly person got lost trying to find, made up of a combination of bits of often used routes and some reverse direction. Nashua Booyong Fernleigh Clunes return via Booyong,  Thanks leader Jane
